Using Typeset’s Magic Wand tool is a quick way to change your page’s layout, colors, and even to add an image to a page that doesn’t already have one! With Typeset's Magic Wand, you can let Typeset do all of the heavy lifting, designing your content so you just have to be the expert in the text content you want to share with the world!

How does it work?

Typeset continually reviews your content on every page and will make new remixed layouts for you as you add or remove content! When you add text or an image, Typeset will make a new set of layouts available to you in the Magic Wand so you do not have to spend time lining up images and text, ensuring they are pixel-perfect. Every time you make a change in Typeset, review the Magic Wand to see your new layout options!

Where to find the Magic Wand

Clicking the Magic Wand on the left-hand side gives you layout options for your page:

If your page doesn’t already have an image on it, Typeset will include images in the first couple of layouts that are based on the text provided! 

If you aren’t happy with the suggested images, you can select a layout with any image and then click ‘Replace’ to pull up our image gallery, where you can search for something more suitable to your needs.

Clicking the Magic Wand on the right-hand or Preview side gives you even more design options!

This will open up the remix panel, where you can not only browse layouts, but also select a color palette, text sizes, fonts, page numbering, and more. Let’s break down the options here!

1. Layouts - Typeset’s built-in AI will analyze the contents of your page, and offer you different layout options designed to make that content look great! 

2. Colors From Theme - These colors come directly from your chosen theme.

3. Colors From Pictures - These colors are suggested by AI to match or complement the images on your page.

4. Used Elsewhere In This Deck - If you’ve already customized colors on another page in your project, you’ll find those custom colors here.

5. Page numbers - Click the ‘Enable document page numbers’ button to turn on page numbering, or if you already have numbering enabled, you can toggle ‘Show page number’ off to hide the numbering on that specific page.

6. Text & Typography - This button opens up the settings for your fonts and text sizes.

7. Customize Colors - This button opens up custom color settings for your page. You can choose what you want to customize - Title, Subtitle, Text, Accent, or Background, and then choose a color, or enter a hex code or RGB values.

FAQ

Q: Can the Magic Wand tool automatically add images and layouts to my entire project?

• No, the Magic Wand tool cannot automatically apply images and layouts to your entire project at once. You need to select the Magic Wand tool and edit each slide individually, as it does not support adding images across the entire project simultaneously at this time.

Q: Why does the Magic Wand only show 1 or 2 images in the menu, and the rest of the options do not have an image?

• The Magic Wand, by default, will give you options with an image and plaintext in the event you do not want to use images on the selected page!  If you would like a different image, you can select the option provided and use the replace tool, or type /image on a new line to manually invoke the image tool!
  

Q: No images appear when I click the Magic Wand

• This could be caused by either having too much content on a page, or your page may not have search terms that result in great images. Try typing /image on a new line to review the search term used by the Magic Wand and review the image results.
